The true story of a woman battling power to save her disabled daughter from the devastating time-honoured tradition of child marriage in rural Africa.

Selected as one of Theatre503's 6 writers whose work was performed Dec 10 & 11 2023 as part of the Rapid Write Response scratch nights for "A Woman Walks Into A Bank".
I was born and raised in Kenya, where the best part of the day was staying up late sharing stories, accompanied by buckets of tea. A native speaker of Swahili and other African languages, I have since lived and trained in Performing Arts in the US and UK.
I recently graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) with a Master of Arts in Classical Acting for the Professional Theatre, where my love for storytelling flourished into writing.
I wrote, produced and performed SACRIFICE as a one woman play, which premiered at VAULT Festival 2023 in London and won the ORIGINS AWARD for Outstanding New Work from the Theatre & Performance Programme, one of the 22 awards given for the 553 shows that participated in the festival.
SACRIFICE is a powerful play inspired by a true story about child marriage, a mother’s courage, and the damaging effects that are perpetuated through generations. It celebrates the unsung heroes who have been instrumental in leading change.
